Advanced leak detection methods
Acoustic inspection
One of the most effective techniques is acoustic inspection, which allows us to listen to the sound of water escaping from the pipe. We use specialised equipment that picks up these vibrations, allowing us to identify the exact location of the leak. This technique is particularly useful when leaks are small but cause a constant drip of water.
Thanks to this technology, there is no need for prior excavation. The equipment is placed on the surface of the ground and detects the acoustic differences inside the pipes, facilitating faster intervention with less disturbance.
Thermal imaging cameras
Another key tool is the use of thermal imaging cameras. These cameras detect temperature changes in the ground around the leak. When water escapes from the pipe, it generates a thermal variation that the camera can capture. This temperature difference helps us pinpoint the exact location of the leak, even in deep buried pipes.
This technique is ideal when acoustic inspection cannot be used or in cases where additional verification is needed. By using thermal imaging cameras, we can get a clear view of what is going on under the floor without invasive work.
